Let’s Make Herstory!

“Maxxie LaWow: Drag Super-shero” will make herstory as the first animated feature film about a drag superhero.

This film tells the story of Simon, a shy young barista who finds a magic wig that turns him into the titular drag super-shero, Maxxie LaWow. Campy adventures ensue.

This film is by LGBTQ+ creators and for the LGBTQ+ community, with a mostly LGBTQ+ and BIPOC cast of characters.

This is the first film in “Maxxieworld.” After this film, we would like to see a TV series or additional films.

Audition Info

Instructions

Those wishing to audition should send us information about themselves, including names of characters from the above list and links to recordings of prior work: maxxi[email protected]

We will send qualified talent “sides” (script excerpts). All lines to record are highlighted. We only need those lines, no need for a reader to cover the rest. In some sides, we’ve also highlighted some action. Feel free to have fun with those parts.

Audition recordings do NOT have to be high quality. They can be a voice memo from their phone. We just need to hear their voice clearly with as little background noise as possible.

Talent is welcome to record two takes: one with script as is, and one with improv, showing us their comedic chops. For each take, record the scenes all the way through.

Send audition recordings as MP3 files to: [email protected]
